tomatoes - 2/3
salt
toor dall - 1 cup
tumeric powder 1/2 tsp
chilli powder 1tsp
coriander powder 2tsp
sambar power- 1 1/2 tspn

oil mustard seeds
kadhi patha
coriander leaves for seasoning
Method:
In a pressure cooker/ pressure pan, put the
toor dall, chopped tomatoes, small onions
(take out the skin), sambar powder, tumeric powder,
chilli powder, coriander powder, green chilli.
asofoestida , salt and 300 ml of water and
cook till done.
On opening, [ tempering] crackle mustard seeds and add dry whole red chilli
curry leaves and coriander leaves.
You can also use any sambar vegetable of drumstick, egg plant, pumpkin, carrots
your choice.
Easy sambar for rice/ idle/dosa.
